The article features M. Barusch, a gay math teaching assistant in Harvard University. He is currently interning with the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition. He is a past coordinator of Harvard's Trans Task Force, former codirector of Contact, a peer counseling drop-in and call-in center for students dealing with gender and sexuality issues. He organized a rally of more than 250 people with national speakers after participating in a successful campaign to include gender identity in Harvard's nondiscrimination code. He worked with the university community to more than double the number of gender-neutral restrooms on campus and founded Harvard's popular annual Bisexuality Weeks and Queer Thanksgiving.
