This research seems to me to completely misunderstand what is going on within the groups. I have carried out extensive research of the same nature, and rather than the people in the groups finding their true self, many of them had become persuaded that they were Transsexual, when in reality they were not, but were in fact Transgendered. Filling in the gaps in order to create a new self, with other people’s narratives should send up loud alarm bells which he misses, in order I think to make the whole thing fit the hypothesis he wanted it too. This is a perfect example of poor conclusions ruining a good piece of reaserch work.
