Abstract:
The article profiles Lucas Silveira, the lead singer of Canadian rock band the Cliks, who was born a female. Silveira came out as a transgender male in 2005 after a six-and-a-half-year relationship ended. The Cliks' United States debut "Snakehouse" will be released in April 2007 on Tommy Boy Entertainment's Silver Label imprint, and will feature a cover of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River." While one of the bands songs appears on the television show "The L Word," Silveira believes the media's portrayal of transgender individuals is often wrong.
