The article features photographer Jean Louis Ginibre and his book "Ladies or Gentlemen: A Pictorial History of Male Cross-Dressing in the Movies." The photographer was the former editorial director of Hachette Filipacchi Media. He collects film stills and studio portraits of actors who appeared on screen in drag such as Rock Hudson and Johnny Depp. According to Ginibre, female impersonation reveals social and cultural angst.
