The article presents information about the book "The Life and Death of Carter Falls," by Gypsey Teague. This is a fine first novel, another terrific summer beachbook and the first transgender mystery written by a transgender featuring a transgender protagonist. The plot that drives the novel is the whodunit not the who-is-what-gender, the presence of the transgender issue moves the reader forward a bit in normalizing the life experiences of transgender people. This book has been nominated for the American Library Association Stonewall award.
