Abstract:

The article throws light on the 35th annual conference of the American Association of Sex, Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). The conference will be held from June 3-8, 2003 in Las Vegas. The preliminary program for "The Tapestry of Sexuality: Focus on Legal and Ethical Issues" features workshops on a wide range of topics. Nine separate "threads" will weave through "The Tapestry of Sexuality," including a special track for sex counselors and other threads on power exchange sex, aging and sexuality, and transgender or intersex issues. According to Stephen Conley, executive director of AASECT, due to the overwhelming response to the call for papers, there are a number of excellent presentations scheduled for Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. Also scheduled for Saturday is a pair of fundraisers. AASECT is raffling tickets to Cirque du Soleil's "O." This Montreal-based performance troupe has been described as "beyond circus, beyond theater." though it combines elements of both forms of entertainment.
