The Department of Anthropology, History and Social Medicine at the
University of California, San Francisco announces an opening for a
tenure-track position in medical anthropology, -with duties commencing
at any time between January - September 2008. The successful
applicant will be responsible for teaching in the joint UCSF -UC
Berkeley Graduate Medical Anthropology Program as well as health

4. Faculty Position: Assistant Professor of Women's Studies, Director,
Women's Resource Center
Augsburg College invites applications for a non-tenure track,
teaching/directorship position in Women's Studies with the rank of
Associate or Assistant professor. The position includes administration

For academic year 2007-08 we, in the Department of Classical Studies,
Anthropology and Archaeology at The University of Akron, seek two
full-time Visiting Instructors in cultural anthropology to replace
colleagues who will be on leave. We hope to expedite these searches (just
authorized, at this late date) if we soon identify suitable
candidates--recent Ph.D.s or ABDs. The positions are full-time, temporary
ones that would require regular presence in Akron during the entire
2007-08 academic year. The salary is $32,000 and the teaching load is
three courses per semester.
For the first position the candidate must have the research experience or
advanced coursework to teach courses on sex and gender, medical
anthropology, and anthropological research methods (Introduction to
Anthropological Data), as well as an introductory course in cultural
anthropology.
For the second position the candidate must have the research experience or
advanced coursework to teach courses on introductory anthropological
theory, the anthropology of food, a peoples and culture course (region
open), and/or a political economy/globalization course, as well as an
introductory course in anthropology (Human Diversity--emphasizing global
